HOW MUCH FUN WILL THIS BE?

Pucks and Paws presented by Cleveland Park Animal Hospital and Upstate Veterinary Specialists is coming up this Saturday, March 24 at 7:05 p.m. at the BI-LO Center. All fans with friendly dogs are invited to bring their pups with them to the game.

The highlight of the night is the Small Dog Derby and there is still time to sign your pup up. Fans with dogs 20 pounds or lighter can contact the Road Warriors in advance and register their dog for the race. At the first intermission the Small Dog Derby will be held on the ice in front of thousands of fans. The dogs will start at one goal line with one of their owners then race across the ice to their other owner perched at the far goal line. The winner of the Small Dog Derby will take home a Road Warriors prize pack. To register your dog for the Small Dog Derby call 864-250-4765.

VALLERAND BACK FROM BEING AN ICEHOG TO A ROAD WARRIOR

The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that forward Marc-Olivier Vallerand has returned to the club from his loan to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Vallerand, 22, was loaned to the IceHogs on February 29 and went on to play in seven games over his three weeks in Rockford. The second-year forward recorded two assists, seven penalty minutes, and one shootout goal on his second call up to the AHL this season. His assist on March 10 at Milwaukee was his first AHL point. Vallerand also played two games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on February 25 and 26 but was scoreless.

CORIE A ROAD WARRIOR

The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that they have signed defenseman Adam Comrie.

Comrie, 21, comes to Greenville after beginning the season with the Cincinnati Cyclones. There he had six points (3G, 3A) in four games to begin the season. A second-year pro, Comrie earned eight points (4G, 4A) in 13 games with Cincinnati last season and added one goal in two playoff games. The 6-4, 215-pound rearguard spent a majority of his rookie season with Rochester of the American Hockey League where he recorded five assists and 18 penalty minutes in 44 games.

PLAYOFF BOUND IN GREENVILLE

Greenville Road Warriors    VERSUS      Cincinatti Cyclones

Behind a hat trick from Brandon Wong the Greenville Road Warriors defeated the Cincinnati Cyclones 5-1 at the BI-LO Center on Sunday afternoon. The win was Greenville’s 40th of the season and clinched a second-straight Kelly Cup Playoff berth.

GWINNETT TURNS ASIDE ROAD WARRIORS

The Greenville Road Warriors fell in their final visit to the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Saturday night as they dropped a 4-3 decision to the Gwinnett Gladiators. The defeat left Greenville’s record at 39-22-5.

ROAD WARRIORS – KEEPING UP THE PACE

For the third time this season the Road Warriors used a late third-period goal to forge a tie before beating South Carolina in extra time. The 2-1 win in a nine-round shootout gave Greenville a 3-2 victory and improved its record to 39-21-5 on the season.

PUCKS AND PAWS TO TAKE PLACE SATURDAY, MARCH 24

The BI-LO Center will go to the dogs on Saturday, March 24 when the Road Warriors host Pucks and Paws presented by Cleveland Park Animal Hospitals and Upstate Veterinary Specialists.

For Pucks and Paws Night the Road Warriors are inviting all fans to bring their friendly dogs with them to the game. It will not cost fans anything extra to bring a dog to the game; just buy a ticket and your pup gets to come enjoy the game with you! The night will include a dog fun zone, a Small Dog Derby on the ice, fun treats for the dogs, and more! Dogs are allowed to sit with their owners anywhere in the arena except for Sections 110, 111, and 112. Those sections are reserved as dog-free sections, and any fan who wishes to sit away from the dogs can request a seat in one of those sections.
