RANGERS AGREE TO TERMS WITH FREE AGENT GOALTENDER JASON MISSIAEN
New York, March 24, 2011 – New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with free agent goaltender Jason Missiaen.
Missiaen, 20, appeared in 53 games with Baie-Comeau Drakkar of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) this season, posting a 10-33-8 record, along with a 3.33 goals against average, an .893 save percentage and one shutout. He ranked third in the league with 1,403 saves and fourth in minutes played with 3,026:06 of ice time in his first QMJHL season. Missiaen made his QMJHL debut on October 1 at Prince Edward Island, and registered his first win with a 19-save effort in a 4-3 victory at Rouyn-Noranda on November 26. He posted a record of 5-3-3, along with a 2.77 goals against average and a .903 save percentage from November 26 at Rouyn-Noranda to December 29 at Chicoutimi.
