RANGERS GO DUCK HUNTING THURSDAY

TOMORROW’S GAME:
The Rangers will face-off against the Anaheim Ducks tomorrow at Madison Square Garden (7:00 p.m.), in the first of three games in four days. The Blueshirts currently rank third in the Atlantic Division standings, and 10th in the Eastern Conference, with a record of 4-3-3 (11 pts). The Rangers enter tomorrow’s contest having defeated the San Jose Sharks, 5-2, on Monday at Madison Square Garden, and have now registered at least one point in five of their last seven games (4-2-1). The Ducks enter the contest with a 5-5-2 (12 pts) record to rank 11th in the Western Conference, and have lost six of their last seven games (1-4-2). Following tomorrow’s contest, the Rangers will open a back-to-back home set when they face-off against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Madison Square Garden (7:00 p.m.), in an Original Six match-up. New York will close out their six-game homestand on Sunday, Nov. 6, vs. the Winnipeg Jets (7:00 p.m.).

March 12, 2011 – New York Rangers 3, San Jose Sharks 2 SO (Game No. 70, Away No. 36)

*       The Rangers defeated the San Jose Sharks, 3-2, in the shootout tonight at HP Pavilion at San Jose to improve to 36-30-4 overall, including a 21-14-1 mark on the road.  The Blueshirts are now 4-1-0 in their last five road games, as they completed their two-game west coast road trip with a 1-1-0 record.

VARSITY AND JV BOTH WIN

Saturday hosted one of those rare nights where both the NHL and their AHL affiliates would squared off on the same day. The AHL Connecticut Whale did their part with a 4-2 victory, their fifth in seven tries, against the Worcester Sharks. After that game concluded, some three hours later the parent New York Rangers went on to beat the San Jose Sharks in a shootout 3-2.

“WE SUCKED”

New York Rangers VERSUS  Anaheim

The words of Rangers head coach John Tortorella to the media after the Rangers were embarrassed by the Anaheim Ducks Wednesday night. The Coach was right on the money as there wasn’t a player on the ice or off that even remotely played well. Three of the five goals hit Rangers players or their sticks and went in past Henrik Lundqvist, who was not good either.

The Rangers cannot afford to have any more of these stinkers if they expect to make the playoffs.
