Former Hartford Wolf Pack center Jarkko Immonen was at his best in the World Hockey Championships and a major reason that Finland won the gold medal for only the second time.

Immonen scored his tournament-leading ninth goal to start Finland’s rally to a 6-1 rout of archrival Sweden on Sunday in Bratislava, Slovakia.

IN THE 2011 WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

Chris Kreider, Ryan Bourque, Roman Horak, and Jesper Fasth

to represent their native country in the elite tournament

New York, December 22, 2010 – New York Rangers’ prospects Chris Kreider and Ryan Bourque have been selected to represent Team USA at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo, New York.  The tournament will take place from December 26 – January 5.  This will be the second appearance for both players in the tournament, having captured the Gold Medal with Team USA last year. FUTURE PACK PUPS?

Rangers All four Rangers prospects participating in the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championships recorded points in their respective games tonight.

In the United States’ 3-0 victory over Sweden, Chris Kreider scored the game-winning power play goal and was named Team USA’s Player of the Game.  Team Captain Derek Stepan and Ryan Bourque both notched assists in the game.  Through two games, Stepan has recorded four points (1-3-4) and Kreider has recorded two points (1-1-2).

Roman Horak also tallied a goal for the Czech Republic in their 4-3 loss to Finland.

The United States next plays Latvia and the Czech Republic next plays Austria, both games being held on Tuesday, December 29th
